Chris Hemsworth is at increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s. The Marvel star is now apparently planning his memoirs on this topic.

Over the last few years, Chris Hemsworth (40) has radically changed his lifestyle. The reason for this was that he accidentally learned that there was an increased risk that he could one day develop Alzheimer’s. This frightening discovery is said to have inspired the actor to want to write his memoirs. That’s what she reports “Daily Mail” citing an article in “Woman’s Day” magazine.

A friend told the magazine: “Chris started writing down ideas for his book after his 40th birthday last August. But it wasn’t until last week when he hired one of the top literary agents in Los Angeles that things really got serious,” he said the insider. “His biggest concern was his family and knowing that there would be a day when his children would take care of him. That gave him a much deeper perspective on life.”

According to the report, Hemsworth has signed with literary agent Matt Martin of Creative Arts Agency. He has a good reputation for buying and selling scripts. He also plans to use the agency to hire a ghostwriter to help him write the book. “He doesn’t want it to be another boring celebrity memoir, and he doesn’t plan on spilling celebrity secrets. He wants to talk about his role as a modern father and how he stays healthy,” it continues. On the agency’s website Chris Hemsworth is already listed as a speaker.

This is how Chris Hemsworth found out about the risk of Alzheimer’s

In the Disney+ and National Geographic series “Limitless” in 2022, Hemsworth set out to find ways to fight age and extend his life. He also underwent medical examinations, which revealed that he had inherited the APOE4 gene from both his mother and father’s sides. This increases the chance of him developing Alzheimer’s eight to tenfold.

“They took all my blood work and ran a bunch of tests. The plan was to give me the results on camera and talk about how we could improve this and that,” Hemsworth said. The doctor on the show preferred to tell him the results over the phone. “It was pretty shocking,” the “Thor” actor recalled in October 2023 in an interview with “Men’s Health”.

He was also offered to do the episode without mentioning the results, which he declined for selfless reasons. “If that motivates people to take better care of themselves and understand that there are steps you can take, then all the better.”

He does this for his health

Since then, the Marvel hero has changed some habits in his life: He has integrated certain routines into his everyday life for better mental health. “I’ve always been very consistent with my training commitments. But recently I’ve felt the importance of taking time for myself, without outside voices or stimulation.” In these moments of silence, he meditates a lot and does breathing exercises, either in the sauna or the ice bath.

He has also tweaked his evening routine, says Chris Hemsworth: “I try to stay away from screens for an hour before going to bed. Reading most evenings definitely helps.”

He has been married to his wife Elsa Pataky (47) since 2010 and the two have three children together – a daughter and twin sons. He will soon be seen in the cinema again in the action film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” as the antagonist of the main character. The blockbuster is scheduled to open in German cinemas on May 23rd and premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15th. The strip was originally scheduled to appear in 2023.
