Xiaomi unveiled the Electric Scooter 4 Ultra, its new electric scooter with eloquent characteristics. Autonomy and power have been revised upwards, and a dual suspension system arrives, not to mention puncture-proof tires.

Very active in the mobility sector, the manufacturer Xiaomi took advantage of the launch of MWC 2023 to announce from Barcelona a new electric scooter with flattering properties that confirm the company’s move upmarket in the field of small rolling machines. The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is the high, even very high-end evolution of the Electric Scooter 4 Pro. Better autonomy, more powerful and double suspension: get ready to welcome this new electric scooter in the coming weeks.

Increased autonomy and power

On paper, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra has all the racing car, all proportion kept of course. The scooter will easily reach the legal speed limit of 25 km/h. It will also climb slopes of up to 25% without too much difficulty thanks to its 940 W of motor power, or 240 W more than the Pro model. Enough to take advantage of its four driving modes (pedestrian, sport, sport+ and standard).

On the autonomy side, Xiaomi is also making a nice push. The Electric Scooter 4 Ultra model has a so-called “ultra long life” battery which, in the text, could push the user for 70 kilometers. Logically, this distance will be almost impossible to achieve. Actual range will differ from commercial range, and Xiaomi is honest to say that its tests were conducted on a flat road at moderate speed (15 km/h), with a 75 kg user to which a load of 5 kg has been added.

We can probably bet on an autonomy reaching 50 or even 60 kilometers in real conditions, which would already be honorable. Note that the charging time for this 561 Wh battery is estimated at 6:30 using a 2A charger. On this point, it is a bit disappointing.

Double suspension and puncture-proof tires, but… a weight that could be a problem

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra therefore has advantages, but the manufacturer has more than one trick up its sleeve! This electric scooter is the first from the Chinese manufacturer to feature a double suspension system. It was time, one might say, its competitors having already taken the plunge. With this system, the machine gains in comfort and offers more safety to its owner.

As an extension of the double suspension, the Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is equipped with 10-inch Xiaomi DuraGel tires. Bigger, wider, they are, according to the manufacturer, extremely effective against punctures and are self-sealing.

As we pointed out the fairly long charging time, another element could put off the potential buyer even more seriously: the weight. From the top of its 25 kg, the Xiaomi scooter is in good health. Imagine that it weighs 7.5 kg more than the Pro version. For a machine that wants to promote mobility, it could be difficult to move in the long run, unless you lift from cast iron to the gym without wincing.

In terms of availability and price, it should be accessible to the general public from April 20, at the announced price of 999 euros.
