On Saturday December 17, Indira Ampiot was crowned Miss France 2023. The 18-year-old savored her victory. But during her coronation, Miss Guadeloupe did not react immediately because with the surrounding noise, she did not immediately hear her first name. She then asked for confirmation from her first runner-up. “Of course I was pleasantly surprised. I had my first runner in front of me, (…) I told him ‘but it’s me?’. She said ‘yes it’s you’. It was a great time, I can’t wait to see the replay to relive this moment“, she confided in an interview granted to LCI.
For our colleagues, she evoked this misunderstanding with humor. “When they said Miss Guadeloupe, I understood Miss Poitou, so I said to myself ‘there is a problem’. And then Poitou sounded like Guadeloupe, and there I understood that it was me and that I had heard badly. We both died laughing“, she confided. While this moment could have been annoying, the new Miss France was reassured by her friend, who did not hesitate to remove the doubt in the mind of the candidate. After a reciprocal laughter, Indira Ampiot was finally able to let her joy burst during this moment rich in emotion.

A new life now awaits Indira Ampiot.
