Indispensable tools – Twelve ratchet boxes in the test: Only one “very good”

The sockets were tested for dimensional accuracy, material hardness and strength. Tested wrench sizes (if available in the box): SW 10, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 27 and 32. The strength was determined on a torque test bench. The torque test according to DIN ISO 1711/1 was carried out with test stones, once in each direction of rotation. Similar to the ratchets with the values according to the corresponding DIN and again with a load of 40 percent above the DIN standard. There was no damage to the sockets above the wrench size ten. Only five manufacturers had the SW 10 nuts break during the hardness test above the DIN standard.
