So, the year begins and everyone is already thinking about their next vacation (well, that’s my case). But it can definitely be linked to good resolutions. For example, one of the things I want to reduce this year is the number of cables and chargers I travel with.

T3 is a bit of a “Transformers”. You can lay it flat and use it as a three-plate charger if you have space, or fold it into a more compact triangle if space is limited. It is then good for charging an iPhone and an Apple Watch. The T3 also folds like an accordion for easy storage and transport.

The T3 uses magnetic tabs to hold it in the folded triangle or concertina configuration, and the magnets have the strength needed, not too strong, not too weak, but just right.
Testing power, overheating, and durability
You must provide a USB-C charger with a minimum power of 25W to power the entire pad (a cable is provided). There are many chargers that do the job.
There were three things I was looking forward to testing on the InfinaCore T3 Tri-Charge.
- First of all, the power. Does it deliver the power advertised? My testing suggests yes: you get what’s promised, even when all three charging pads are in use. I’ve seen a lot of devices that fail at this level, so it’s good for T3.
- Secondly, Does it get hot during use? ? Because I also saw some of them become supernovas. Here again, I was pleasantly surprised, the device remaining cool throughout its use.
- Finally, durability. I used and abused this charging pad for a few weeks without any issues.
The power of magnetism
I was also impressed with the magnetic strength of the MagSafe Charging Ring. A lot of chargers I’ve tested fail because this ring is weak, not preventing the iPhone from falling off the mount or not attaching properly (the main cause of overheating). No problems here with the InfinaCore T3 Tri-Charge
The charger also has a green light, useful for ambient lighting or to locate it in the dark. If that’s not your thing, there’s a button to turn it off.
