Infinity Ward teases a ‘next generation’ for the Call of Duty series

call of duty vanguard did not quite have the same success as the previous opuses, and Activision intends to restore enthusiasm around the series with the episode planned for this year. Following the turnover of studios working on the license, it is now up to Infinity Ward to support the next episode, and the studio is already starting to teaser it on Twitter.

Call of Duty is finally changing?

In a simple message that was posted around Activision-Blizzard’s financial statement, Infinity Ward teases the following: A new generation of Call of Duty is coming soon. Stay connected. »

From this teaser, we can deduce several things, the first being to be linked to the rumors that declared that the studio was working on a Modern Warfare 2, sequel to the 2019 episode. Tom Henderson, a well-known insider on the series, also talks about the potential arrival of a mysterious “DMZ” project which would be a kind of Escape From Tarkov or Hazard Zone like Battlefield 2042.

The term ” new generation ” could also refer to the latest generations of consoles, but it is very hard to imagine the publisher releasing the next episode only on PS5 and Xbox Series, as these consoles are still difficult to find today.

Activision promises to put in place new experiences ” for call of duty, which would perhaps mean that the next opus would bring new game modes. No doubt this year will be important for the series, especially with the takeover by Microsoft in the viewfinder.
