INFO CLOSER. Charlene of Monaco interned: her secret tete-a-tete with Prince Albert for the New Year

On December 30, Prince Albert II of Monaco flew to Switzerland to celebrate the New Year alone with his wife, Princess Charlene.

She has been living away from her family for months. After several months in South Africa, where she underwent several ENT operations, Princess Charlene was once again kept away from Monaco for medical reasons. Physically weakened by her convalescence in South Africa and morally weakened by a deep depression, the wife of Prince Albert II was admitted in November 2021 to a Swiss clinic for a “therapeutic retreat“. She takes the time to rebuild herself, despite the lack of her family…

Fortunately, love is stronger than distance. As your magazine revealed Closer shortly before Christmas, Prince Albert II of Monaco took care to take his children, Jacques and Gabriella, to see their mother for the Christmas holidays. And he didn’t stop there. In its latest issue, available on newsstands this Friday, January 14, Closer reveals that Prince Albert II of Monaco also spent New Year’s Eve with his wife. Arrived in Switzerland on December 30, the Sovereign Prince of Monaco put down his suitcases near the clinic and freed up his schedule to spend forty-eight hours alone with his wife.

A long recovery in sight?

According to a person close to the palace, the recovery of Princess Charlene “should take a few more months“. Nevertheless, according to the British media Royal Central, Prince Albert’s wife could make a return trip to Monaco in the next weeks, to attend the traditional celebrations of Sainte-Dévote, patron saint of the Principality of Monaco, scheduled for 26 and 27 January. However, his coming has not yet been confirmed by the Rock.
