Emmanuel Macron will receive on Wednesday the parties represented in Parliament at the Maison d’éducation de la Légion d’honneur in Saint-Denis in Seine-Saint-Denis as part of the “major political initiative” announced by the head of the ‘State. The Elysée insists on the solemn and confidential nature of this meeting. Photos will be prohibited, the press will be kept away and participants will not be able to interact with the outside world.

The Maison d’éducation de la Légion d’honneur in Saint-Denis will be somewhat cut off from the rest of the world for this afternoon, followed by a working dinner.

Collaborators of the president and party leaders are prohibited from going there

Even the aides of the president and party leaders will not be allowed to go there. “It’s a fair scenario to get out of postures, and have sincere and concrete discussions”, underlines an adviser to the executive who promises that the exchanges will go “well beyond the government’s agenda and even that of the oppositions”.

“The president really wants to reach out to all the political forces represented in Parliament and listen to what their leaders have to say,” insists an employee. “Unity and harmony” is the main theme chosen by the Elysée for this day in Saint-Denis with three sub-themes to structure the discussions: first the international situation, then the institutions, the organization of the territory and the simplification of public action, finally everything related to “making a nation”. No final press release will be published after the discussions, which should end around midnight.
