The director of the Chaumet jewelry company escaped a homejacking attempt last night. The police, alerted thanks to anonymous information, had set up surveillance near his home in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine).
The events took place around six a.m., in Boulogne-Billancourt, in Hauts-de-Seine, when four men entered the building where the director of the Parisian jewelry company Chaumet resides.
Arrests possible thanks to anonymous information
The criminals had broken into a room, located on the ground floor of the house, to seize several objects: luxury leather goods, but also jewelry. They were arrested as they left the building. The police were alerted by an anonymous tip.
During their arrests, the police found an imitation handgun, a crowbar and serflex straps on the four suspects. The damage from this home-jacking is currently unknown. Chaument’s director was in the building, upstairs with her family. She would not have noticed the intrusion into her home. The four arrested were placed in police custody.
