While rumors of a reshuffle are becoming more and more persistent, the head of state is reportedly considering appointing Sébastien Lecornu as Prime Minister to relaunch his five-year term. According to information from Europe 1, the head of state intends to rely on his close guard to create new momentum.

Elisabeth Borne seems more threatened than ever. Rumors of a reshuffle are intensifying and to replace her, Emmanuel Macron is reportedly considering appointing Sébastien Lecornu to Matignon. The current Minister of the Armed Forces is one of the president’s trusted men and one of the few to maintain a personal relationship with him. However, the Secretary General of the Elysée Alexis Kohler expresses reluctance, pleading for a less influential profile and for a weak Prime Minister.

Guémas returns to the Elysée

According to information from Europe 1, the head of state intends to rely on his followers to create new momentum. Others close to the tenant of the Elysée would be approached to take up ministries. In the event of a reshuffle, the Ministry of the Economy would have to change bosses. Juggernaut of the government, Bruno Le Maire could pack his bags and leave his Bercy office to a historic walker: Julien Denormandie who withdrew from political life a year and a half ago.

Furthermore, the return of another pillar of the team which led Emmanuel Macron to the Elysée in 2017 has already been confirmed. According to Europe 1 information, the former head of state Jonathan Guémas will return to the Elysée in the coming days to occupy the strategic position of special advisor in charge of communications.
