Common YouTube evenings in front of the TV usually end with everyone looking the other way while the host enters his password. Thanks to a new feature in the YouTube app for your mobile phone, this no longer has to be the case. With this cool trick, you can easily transfer your passwords for smart TVs and game consoles. During today’s coffee break, I’ll tell you how it’s done!
- YouTube TV app now uses Wi-Fi to discover registered phones
- New function enables you to log in without entering login data
- The same methodology will soon also work on game consoles.
Before you start, make sure that the YouTube app on both the TV / game console and your mobile phone (Google Play Store / Apple App Store) is up to date. According to Google, both devices should also be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. At the time of publication, quick sign-in was not yet available on some game consoles, but Google’s support page suggests that the feature is supported on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
