Innovation at dm checkouts: What will soon change in many drugstore branches

According to Seitz, the new self-service systems were developed by dm together with Dutch tech supplier Pan Oston. Accordingly, a conscious decision was made against a standard model because a solution tailored to the drugstore business was sought.

Small restriction for customers: cash payments are not possible at the new terminals. Instead, buyers must have a giro or debit card, a credit card or, in the future, Payback Pay to hand. There will be no control trolleys at dm, as known from other self-service checkouts in retail, as these are not required for drugstore products.
