Instinct 2: Garmin unveils its watch that will never run out of battery

The Garmin brand has just announced its new range of connected watches
: the Instinct 2 series. A range with the particularity of offering certain models capable of never running out of battery.

A complete range

The Garmin brand, well known in the connected watch sector, is rolling out a new series of its Instinct range. Designed to accompany you wherever you go, the Instinct 2 watch comes in several iterations and is available in two sizes: 45 mm for the classic Instinct 2 models and 40 mm for the Instinct 2S models. In order to meet different needs, Garmin provides a range of models designed for very specific uses. Here are the different editions offered:

• The Surf edition: for nautical activities including surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, integrating a widget to keep you informed of ocean conditions.
• The Tactical edition: intended for the military, it has a stealth mode, a data reset button, a screen compatible with night vision goggles or even a mode jump master for parachute jumps.
• The Dēzl Edition: a watch specially designed for truck drivers, ensuring that their needs are met as part of their daily routine at work.
• The Camo edition: a model designed for those who want to camouflage themselves in the environment.

In terms of design, three new colors are offered for Garmin’s Instinct 2 range: Lemon, Flame Red and Glass of Water. What bring a little cheerfulness despite a relatively sober and agreed design.

In order to compensate for this, the brand gives users the choice of designing their own personalized version of its watch, thus offering up to more than 240 possible variations, all via the program. Your Watch, Your Way which will be available from the end of March.

Multiple features for unlimited battery

Like most smartwatches, the Instinct 2 is actually more than just a watch. You can indeed download free applications for connected watch, widgets and other wallpapers directly from the Garmin Connect IQ platform, in addition to being able to access a range of features of all kinds related to your sleep, your sports activities, but also also your heart rate. A formality for connected watches these days.

With its scratch-resistant high-resolution screen, its water resistance of up to 100 meters and its toughness in the face of shocks and high temperatures, the particularity of this watch lies above all in its battery. At least, for the Solar editions (and for the 45mm models exclusively). Indeed, if the classic models can offer up to four weeks of continuous use, those with solar recharging will benefit from so-called “unlimited” autonomy in connected mode. It remains to be seen whether in fact this promise is actually kept.

Anyway, the watches of this new range are already available for purchase and you will have to pay no less than 349.99 euros for an Instinct 2 or an Instinct 2S and 399.99 euros for the Dezl model. Note that it will still take up to 100 additional euros to benefit from the solar charging option.
