The processors Meteor Lake of 14e generation of Intel will add a third type of cores to their architecture.

Expected around the second half of 2023, Intel’s Meteor Lake 14 mobile CPUse generation are leaked revealing their new architecture and technical specifications.

A third type of heart, very low consumption?

First, we learn of the existence of three main families for these Intel processors of 14e generation. Low-power U CPUs can integrate up to 12 cores, while P and H CPUs can go up to 14 cores.

The most interesting happens now. Intel would rely on a new architecture for its Meteor Lake, not incorporating two different types of cores into its processors as on the last generation, but switching to three separate cores to take another step in the hybrid.

In addition to P-cores for performance and E-cores for energy efficiency, Intel’s next CPUs would also feature LP E-cores. The source, Igor’s Lab, does not specify their function, but it is likely that ” LP means “ low power and that these cores support the least resource-intensive processes. We would then approach a structure used by ARM.

According to another informant, OneRaichu, these LP E-cores would be two in number per CPU and directly integrated into the SoC, rather than in the calculation area. These two cores are not counted in the total cores announced at the beginning of the article.

A Battlemage GPU part

As for memory, these new processors will be able to support up to 64 GB of LPDDR5/X at 7467 Mbps and up to 96 GB (a first for consumer laptops) of DDR5 at 5600 Mbps.

On the GPU side, we will also be entitled to a new architecture, Intel Xe-LPG, based on Xe2-HPG. Intel Battlemage GPUs will benefit from up to 128 execution units. Dedicated Battlemage graphics cards should also see the light of day.

Otherwise, there is support for four Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 6E and a VPU 2.7 with GNU 3.5 for artificial intelligence performance.
