A change that has a direct – but limited – consequence on the bandwidth of the new Graphic card Intel.
The release of the first “partner” A380 card was the occasion for a little surprise on the RAM side. A surprise confirmed by the update of the specifications on the official Intel website.
Bandwidth reduced to 186 GB/s
Indeed, while the American founder had first mentioned a speed of 16 Gbps for the RAM on board the A380, the Chinese manufacturer GUNNIR had spoken of GDDR6 chips at 15.5 Gbps.
It was therefore not a question of an error or a freedom taken by GUNNIR and Intel modified the official page to swap the 16 Gbps for a 15.5 Gbps. Logically, the bandwidth of the graphics card is also reduced from 192 GB / s to 186 GB / s.
These are the only changes made by Intel, which takes the opportunity to clarify a question about HDMI support. Indeed, GUNNIR only mentions HDMI 2.0 compatibility on the HDMI port that accompanies the three DisplayPorts.
Intel has therefore confirmed that the Arc Alchemist A380 is indeed able to support HDMI 2.1. However, the choice is ultimately left to manufacturers whether or not they want to enable this support.
