Serie A: Pogba banned for four years for doping

Paul Pogba, who tested positive for testosterone in August 2023, has been sentenced to a four-year ban by the Italian anti-doping court. His club Juventus Turin announced this on Thursday. The Italian record champions “take note” of the court’s decision, which followed the prosecution’s applications against the 30-year-old midfielder. Pogba won the World Cup with France in 2018.

Saudi Pro League: Al-Nassr has to do without CR7

Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been banned for one game in the Saudi Pro League after an obscene gesture. This was announced by the Saudi Football Association. The 39-year-old turned the fans against him on Sunday evening after his club Al-Nassr’s 3-2 away win at Al-Shabab. Video footage on social media shows the Portuguese record goalscorer putting his left hand to his ear after the final whistle and moving his right back and forth several times in front of his lower body. The action appeared to be directed against Al-Shabab supporters. He was apparently provoked by “Messi” chants.
