International race – Up to twelve dogs pulled sleighs on the Postalm

Internationally attended and in front of a picturesque backdrop with fantastic weather: At the weekend, more than a hundred participants competed against each other in the dog sled race on the Postalm. Just one dog in a team or all twelve – there was a lot for the spectators to see.

Among the participants in the sled dog race were European and world champions who competed against each other in various disciplines. A race track was between five and ten kilometers long. Up to twelve animals from the Nordic dog breeds: huskies, Greenland dogs, Alaskan malamutes, Samoyeds and hounds pulled the sleighs around the Postalm in the Salzkammergut. Sled dog lovers from all over Europe came to Austria’s largest high mountain pasture for a top-class race in which the dogs demonstrated their enormous strength and… showed enthusiasm for running. The Austrian Sled Dog Sports Club and the Postalm Winter Park are the organizers. The next race will take place in Hintersee on February 10th and 11th.
