Maestro of Don’t forget the lyrics since April 4, Kristofer has had an incredible career. The joviality of the young Belgian and his complicity with Nagui greatly appeal to fans of the show. The law student, who dreams of winning the Masters, confided in Télé Star.
Télé Star: Your level has been impressive since your arrival in Do not forget the lyrics. How did you prepare?
Kristofer: I started revising more than four years ago. I reviewed 1700 songs and learned 750 by heart. I had some basic knowledge because I love French music since I was little. I chained the weeks during which I listened to 50 songs in loop. I also watched the show a lot to get the right lyrics because on the internet, there are no editors’ lyrics. I had to reconcile my life as a law student in Liège with revisions. I took advantage of all the journeys and all the moments of solitude to listen to music.
What was your goal when you arrived on the show?
I didn’t really have a goal. I just wanted to play. I knew I was selected in November 2019 but with the Covid, I had to wait a very long time. My dream was the Masters, to enter the circle of the greatest champions that I adore and who fascinate me. It was a dream that I thought was unattainable.
Kristofer (Don’t forget the lyrics): “Winning the Masters would be amazing!”
You are going to participate in the Masters at the start of the school year. What state of mind are you in?
Already, I will study twice as much. I will fall against people who study a lot too. The level will be much higher. They all have this rage to win. I just want to be up to it. I want to stay true to myself. But it’s true that winning the Masters would be incredible!
What are you going to do with your winnings?
I would like to buy an apartment in the center of Brussels to complete my studies. I’m also going to redecorate my room and buy myself a new bike. Above all, I will donate part of my earnings to associations. There are several causes that affect me: women’s rights, animal rights, the rights of homosexual people, the fight against racism…
Do you read what fans of the show say about you on social networks in particular?
I am very active on social networks. I scrutinize all the pages devoted to the show. I was not expecting that at all ! It took a huge proportion! I have the impression of being very followed. I haven’t seen a single negative comment yet I’m looking for them. It’s incredible. I feel huge support! I cry a lot because I don’t understand what is happening now.
Kristofer (Don’t forget the lyrics): “Nagui told me that as we were vaccinated, we could become tactile again”
We see you very tactile and you walk around the set. Could you have participated in the show just after confinement when, for example, it was forbidden to take Nagui in your arms?
When I saw that the show resumed after confinement and that we could no longer hug Nagui, I was sad. It was my dream! When I arrived on set, Nagui told me that since we were vaccinated, we could become tactile again. I didn’t ask myself any questions and the emotion was so strong that I immediately felt very tactile with him. I talked to him about it with him, between shows, and he told me there was no problem.
Where does this passion for Nagui and his wife, Mélanie Page, come from?
For five years, there has not been a single day that I have not thought of Don’t forget the lyrics and therefore of Nagui. He didn’t know me, but I knew him very well. He was an integral part of my life. I would sometimes watch shows on repeat for 14 hours. What attracts me to him is his charisma, his personality and the causes he defends. I became interested in his journey. I recognize myself a lot in him. As for Mélanie Page, I met her during the filming of Taratata. I knew she was an actress but I knew her very little. He is a great person with whom I was able to talk a little. The couple they form is incredible.
