The throws have taken their place on your sofa, the lemonade has been replaced by hot chocolate, All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey replaced Cruel Summer by Taylor Swift in your playlist, the summer sagas have given way to romantic TV films that take place in the snow… Doubt is no longer allowed, We are just a few days away from Christmas! And for the third year in a row, Gala.fr asked your favorite personalities to tell us about this joyous celebration. This day is Vincent Niclo who takes up the pen.
Gala.fr: Has Santa Claus ever disappointed you?
Vincent Niclo: (he’s laughing) Yes, the day I found out it wasn’t true.
Gala.fr: This year, what does your Christmas list consist of?
Vincent Niclo: I don’t really have a gift in mind. My greatest gift is to be reunited with my family as often as possible. It’s becoming really rare at the moment.
Gala.fr: For a Christmas meal, what is the essential food?
Vincent Niclo: For me, it’s a glass of rosé champagne. This is how my Christmas meal will start (he’s laughing).
Gala.fr: The kitsch Christmas sweater, are you for or against it?
Vincent Niclo: If everyone has one, I would like it (he’s laughing). Because if you’re the only one, it’s no. I already wore it for a show in Canada. Last year, during a Christmas tour, I was given this kind of sweater. It was my first. It was really the big Christmas sweater with pom poms. We can’t do better.
Gala.fr: What is your favorite Christmas song?
Vincent Niclo: Have yourself a merry little Christmas. I had the chance to sing it with Plácido Domingo on his Christmas album. I do not believe it !
Gala.fr: What is the Christmas memory that is anchored in you?
Vincent Niclo: It’s very simple, it’s when I got my first microphone. I was already singing and I dreamed of having my microphone. It was just magical.
Gala.fr: Is the Christmas tree installed on December 1st or… on the wire, just before Christmas?
Vincent Niclo: Even if I don’t celebrate Christmas perfectly in terms of the dates, the ceremony of putting up a Christmas album, the decorations and the tree, it’s unavoidable when I’m at home. It’s been three years since I made my tree since I wasn’t there. But when I’m home, it’s even before December 1st. I love that !
Gala.fr: What is the best gift we could give you?
Vincent Niclo: It would be to rediscover the Christmas of my childhood with my grandparents. Those were the only times I felt like we were a big family.
Gala.fr: After Christmas, it’s the transition to the new year. How do you view 2024?
Vincent Niclo: I don’t make predictions. I’m going to try to free myself from all my pans by the end of 2023 to try to start 2024 light (he laughs). But you know, with everything that’s happening right now, we can’t really predict anything. I’m an optimistic person so I tell myself that 2024 is going to be magnificent.
What’s the latest with Vincent Niclo? The album Celtic Opera deluxe edition has been available since November 10. After performances in Canada, Vincent Niclo will be on the concert bill Céline Symphonique February 29, March 1 and 2 at the Seine Musicale in Boulogne Billancourt. He will be accompanied by Anne Sila and many guests.
