The search for the fugitive RAF terrorists Staub and Garweg continues. Now the investigators are presenting new photos that are supposed to show the 55-year-old Garweg. One of the recordings is said to have been taken in 2024.
The terrorist Daniela Klette has been caught, the search for her two accomplices Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub from the RAF continues at full speed. The State Criminal Police Office in Lower Saxony (LKA) is now turning to the public with new photos that are supposed to show the 55-year-old Garweg. The very clear and private-looking images were taken between 2021 and 2024.
The police advise against speaking to the fleeing men.

The current picture presumably shows Garweg sitting on the sofa between two dogs and eating, according to a statement. Whether the dogs are Garweg’s animals is still the subject of the investigation. It cannot currently be ruled out that Garweg and Klette had personal and direct contact with each other.
Police warned that the fleeing men could be armed. The LKA therefore strongly advises against approaching those you are looking for yourself. On Friday, the Federal Criminal Police Office asked the public for help in finding the two men. The investigators assume that they could still be in Berlin or the surrounding area.
It is unclear whether the dog belongs to Garweg.

According to its own information, the Lower Saxony LKA has been searching for burdock, Garweg and dust with target investigators since 2015. The LKA continues to use target investigators from the LKA Lower Saxony in the search for the suspected robbers Staub and Garweg, a spokesman for the authority explained on Friday. The spokesman did not answer how the investigators worked and whether they used special tools “for tactical reasons”.
Garweg may be in Berlin or the surrounding area.

After decades of searching, the criminal police from Lower Saxony said they received a “tip from the public” about Burdock in November, searched for her, observed her and finally caught her on Monday in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
Burdock, Staub and Garweg belong to the so-called third generation of the RAF. During their active time, the then Deutsche Bank boss Alfred Herrhausen (1989) and Treuhand boss Detlev Karsten Rohwedder (1991) were murdered and Herrhausen’s driver was seriously injured. Among other things, Klette is said to have fired at least 250 shots at the US embassy in Bad Godesberg with RAF members in February 1991. For decades, the left-wing extremist organization Red Army Faction (RAF) was the epitome of terror and murder in the west of still divided Germany. In 1998 it declared itself dissolved.
