As much as some smartphone users like to send voice messages to their contacts these days, listening to the sometimes long monologues often proves impractical. If you use an iPhone, the horror will come to an end with the upcoming iOS 17, at least if you use iMessage.
In Apple Messenger, voice messages are converted into text with the new version of the mobile operating system, so that you can easily read the monologue intended for you and find important information from it using the search function on the iPhone.
iOS 17 automatically transcribes voice messages
The transcription of voice messages, which is already possible via third-party apps, also runs without any prompt under iOS 17, which will be released in September 2023, and when the audio message appears, it also presents you with a text that has been transformed into readable sentences by AI as a new message.
If you prefer to listen to the original voice message, this is of course still possible under iOS 17. To do this, all you have to do under the new operating system is click the play button on the voice message in iMessage – nothing seems to change.
