iPhone 14 has to do without: Apple hasn’t packed it yet

Users have been expecting quite a few functions and features for the iPhone for some time. But Apple will not already fulfill all wishes this year. The manufacturer is still holding back many things, Apple just can’t handle it.

As expected, Apple will implement most of the new features in the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but the update of the two standard models will be very weak. But there are also functions that generally do not end up in Apple cell phones this year. Sooner or later they will probably exist, but for 2022 the situation is hopeless. So you wait in vain for the following 5 characteristics (Source: 9to5Mac).

iPhone 14 without ports?

No, an iPhone without any connections appeared in the rumor mill last year, but Apple doesn’t dare to go with the iPhone 14. The wireless charging option via MagSafe is and remains a convenient option, but not compulsory. Until further notice, you will also be able to plug in a cable with the iPhone.

Wireless charging via MagSafe is not yet mandatory:

iPhone 14 not with USB-C after all

For Apple, too, there is no way around USB-C. At least since the EU raised the connection to a future mandatory standard. Apple is still holding on to Lightning for the iPhone. This could possibly change as early as next year, but nothing will change for 2022.

A foldable iPhone is still a long way off

Competitor Samsung recently introduced the fourth generation of a foldable smartphone, but Apple has so far ignored the technology and made no attempt to change anything. Experts like Ming-Chi Kuo agree: Apple could jump on the bandwagon by 2025 at the earliest. Means: Neither an iPhone 14, nor a potential iPhone 15 or even iPhone 16 will adapt the technology. Apple will remain conservative for the next few years and will not yet dare to use flexible and foldable screens.

Such an iPhone will not be seen for a few years at the earliest:

iPhone 14 without hidden front camera

One or the other Android smartphone has already experimented with a front camera that is discreetly hidden below the display. But the photographic results are currently rather sobering. Too bad, not only for Apple. After all: Instead of the typical and wide notch, the two Pro models will have a less conspicuous pill-shaped recess.

Apple doesn’t do it with Zoom yet

Although Apple is working flat out on a periscope lens, it’s still not enough for the iPhone 14. According to insiders, the space-saving construction, which enables a real optical zoom, is not expected until 2023. Ergo: If you were hoping for it, you have to wait for the iPhone 15 Pro. This should then have a sixfold optical zoom.

Summarized: While many desired features are missing this year, there are some new features. Buyers of an iPhone 14 Pro (Max), for example, can look forward to a new 48-megapixel camera, a better ultra-wide-angle lens or an always-on display. The standard models at least get a little more working memory, but other than that, nothing new.

You will find out on September 7th whether these predictions are all correct. Apple invites you to the big event at 7 p.m. sharp and will present the new cell phones to the public.
