The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are very high-end smartphones, as can be seen from their price. However, this does not prevent them from leaving like hot cakes. Which is not the case with their little brothers, the iPhone 14, which are more affordable, but which are a little shunned by the general public.
As the first weekend of marketing of the iPhone 14 suggested, these are indeed the popular iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. If we consider the state of stocks as a conclusive indicator of the commercial success of a product, then the new iPhones in their Pro version are a real success. Despite their much higher price (14% more on average), the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max have become a real rare commodity.
Apple’s French site thus indicates that deliveries for the iPhone 14 Pro can only be honored between October 28 and November 4. It’s even worse for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, since you can only enjoy them between November 4 and November 14. Conversely, and as expected, the “basic” iPhone 14s are ready to ship and can even be found on the shelves of physical stores. Despite many advantages and their lower price, these models apparently appeal much less.
The shortage of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone is global, the wait is even longer in the United States
The iPhone 14 Pro shortage is not limited to France, the phenomenon is international. In the United States, for example, the delays are even a little longer than in France for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Even the iPhone 14 seem to be (slightly) out of stock, since at the moment you have to wait 4 days to get the entry level of Apple’s smartphones. The delays with our neighbors are even longer, since they have to wait between three and four weeks to receive their iPhone 14 Pro, and between four and five weeks for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Certainly the A16 chip of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max puts those of Android smartphones to the mat, but pure performance is not everything, and the price difference is so big between these models and the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max from the previous generation that the purchase seems difficult to justify. Admittedly Apple offers some innovations, among which we find the Dynamic Island, so iconic that it has already been copied on Android, but in the opinion of many experts, the iPhone 14 present developments that must be sought at the magnifying glass.
