Apple is reportedly offering new capabilities for its two consumer models to boost their sales.

The iPhone 14 range is experiencing mixed fortunes. While sales of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max were very high, resulting in continuous stockouts throughout the last quarter of 2022, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus seem to be shunned by consumers.

More than disappointing entry-level sales that would push the brand to react

Considered too expensive compared to almost invisible technological evolutions, consumers preferred this year to make an additional financial effort to afford the Pro models, which are more advanced in terms of photography and performance, and offer a refreshed design with the appearance of the Dynamic Island.

In detail, it is the sales figure for the iPhone 14 Plus that is suffering the most. Despite its large 6.7-inch screen, the smartphone does not find its audience, and several rumors indicate that Apple has almost stopped production of this model for the time being, the time to empty its stocks.

The manufacturer seems to want to change the situation this year and would aim to make its two iPhone 15 and 15 Plus more attractive with notable and visible developments on the subject of photography.

Apple would focus on photography and design to boost sales of its iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus

According to Twitter user ShrimpApplePro, the two iPhones of 2023 would have a new, larger photo module than today. Smartphones could thus inherit the same 48-megapixel main sensor that equips the iPhone 14 Pro today. The latter would bring progress in low light as well as the 2x zoom possible by cropping in the image to obtain a shot of 12 megapixels.

YouTuber Vadim Yuryev has another opinion on the subject. According to him, the presence of a new photo block could be a sign of the addition of a telephoto lens. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus would thus have three sensors each, with differences in the capacities offered by each lens to justify the price differences, such as the presence of a 6x optical zoom and up to 10x for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple could also, and quite simply, offer a new design for its photo block on all of its devices. Going by the usual schedule, iPhone redesigns happen every three generations, with the latest being the iPhone 12 in 2020. Everything suggests that 2023 will bring a bit of a breath of fresh air to the manufacturer’s flagship product.
