Mass production of Apple’s new flagship, the iPhone 15, is expected to begin at the end of June. It will be unveiled in a few months by the apple brand.
Some feared a delay because of a problem with the assembly of the triple sensor camera, which should equip the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Finally, everything is back to normal and the smartphone should be ready in due time.
A strong initial production target
Taiwanese group Foxconn, Apple’s main manufacturer, is preparing to mass produce the device at its main assembly plant in Zhengzhou, China. It has indeed just finished the trial period, which consists of manufacturing a limited number of units to ensure that everything is optimal. Recently, the firm increased sign-up bonuses for new recruits, in order to attract staff and be able to meet Apple’s strict requirements.
The initial delivery target is between 85 and 90 million units. According Wccftech, there is a good chance that Apple demanded more from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. As usual, these two models will benefit from more exclusive features.
Also according to the media, Foxconn is exclusively mass-producing the iPhone 15 Pro line this year. The Chinese manufacturer Luxshare steps in as a secondary supplier.
What do we know?
Although Apple remains, as usual, very discreet about its new smartphone, rumors about its specificities are rife. It could be the first iPhone with a USB-C cable, which the company was forced to adopt to comply with the new European standard. Also, the notch should disappear for all models, while more RAM should allow them to perform better.
The iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to be the first to feature an A17 chip built on next-generation 3-nanometer technology from Apple supplier TSMC. This should ensure 10-15% more efficient processing performance, while reducing power consumption by up to 35%.
It will nevertheless be necessary to be patient: nothing has been confirmed by the apple brand. It should present its new iPhone in September. Until then, information on its characteristics will continue to leak out in dribs and drabs.
