- Apple recently introduced the latest edition of the iPhone SE.
- The sales figures for the new “budget iPhone” fall short of expectations.
- Therefore, production is now being reduced – but it should not be due to the cell phone.
The iPhone SE was recently presented in its third edition and is the entry-level model from Apple’s range. As Reuters reports, the actual sales figures are around 20 percent behind those expected by Apple.
The reason for this lies above all in the unfavorable timing of the release of the small mobile phone, because the world situation is not currently favorable to the “consumer mood”.
Inflation, energy crisis, Ukraine war
As the news agency further reports, the currently rising inflation and the consequences of the Ukraine war are partly to blame for the “failure” of the iPhone SE. Factors such as rising food prices and energy costs have reduced interest in the model.
However, the development corresponds very closely to the expectations of analysts. They had warned of a drop in demand due to renewed Covid-19 waves in China, local lockdowns and the conflict in Ukraine. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop further.
