The majority candidate for the European elections presented her program this Monday morning. Credited with 17% of the votes, Valérie Hayer hopes to turn things around to make up for her gap in the polls over Jordan Bardella.

The presidential camp is stepping up the pace. After revealing the list of her 30 running mates on Saturday, the majority candidate, Valérie Hayer, presented her program this Monday morning. She still hopes to deceive the polls which credit her with nearly 17% of voting intentions to try to make up for it. To do this, the majority candidate is refocusing her program on Europe, while her campaign is dominated by national issues.

“With these programmatic proposals, we are building the conditions to create a powerful Europe tomorrow. Powerful first of all to defend itself and to better fight against all those who threaten it. Powerful also to build our prosperity of tomorrow. We have regulated a lot and it was necessary regulate on the mandate which has just ended, I am thinking of the regulation of the digital giants, in particular the Green Pact. But we have to invest!” declared Valérie Hayer.

A candidate supported by the President

48 proposals in total, including two flagship measures precisely focused on investment, the creation of a fund to support the European defense industry and another plan of 1,000 billion euros for ecology, energy, digital and health. A large part of this program is in reality the variation of ideas already supported by Emmanuel Macron. The President appears with Valérie Heyer in the photo appearing on the 6 million copies of the program which will be sent to the French and towed by the activists. Emmanuel Macron should even get more involved in the campaign in the coming days.

“Since the first day, he has been talking about Europe. He actually said, and I am very happy about it, that he wanted to get involved in this campaign. I will leave it to him, obviously, to decide when and how which he will be involved in,” assures the candidate. Mentioned by some, the president’s participation in Valérie Hayer’s meeting on Tuesday evening in Paris is therefore not confirmed at this stage.
