L’Emmanuel Macron’s shattering entry into the presidential year will have had little impact on his position in our monthly barometer Ipsos-Point. Certainly, confidence is crumbling – 1% less favorable opinions, 4% more unfavorable. But, as Fédérico Varcas d’Ipsos notes, it is holding up, and at “a relatively high level”. With 40% of positive judgments on his action, the Head of State is ten points above the credit that was granted to him in February 2020, before the Covid crisis. He keeps the confidence of supporters of the PS (at 48%), but also of those who are close to LR (at 44%).
