As every year, the US administration has published a list of sites to watch closely for rights holders. Indeed, these sites, each in their respective domain, are accused of facilitating the work of pirates who illegally put copyrighted content online. This list, however, is not intended to initiate legal action.
The United States seems to be taking the bull by the horns when it comes to illegal downloading lately. A few days ago, we spoke to you in particular about a giant in the sector which closed its doors following a historic court decision. The authorities do not intend to stop in such a good way and obviously plan to maintain their vigilance in a booming market.
Indeed, download sites are not the only players in this sector: you must also rely on their publishers, their hosts, the other platforms that promote them, etc. Thus, it is a whole ecosystem that gravitates to this practice, however illegal, and which should be monitored to avoid typing in the void with each legal action.

Here is the list of sites that rights holders will have to watch closely in 2022
This is why, each year, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) publishes a long list of sites, listed in different categories, which are directly or indirectly involved in illegal downloading. “The Notorious Marketplaces List is an important tool that inspires the private sector and our trading partners to take action against these harmful practices”says Katherine Tai, Ambassador to the Office.
Several famous names are found in this list, such as the regulars that are The Pirate Bay or Rarbg.to, but also the most unexpected such as e-commerce platforms, like Aliexpress. Here is the full list for this year:
