PARIS (Reuters) – An agreement with Tehran to restore the 2015 Iran nuclear treaty is possible, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Friday.

At the end of December, an eighth round of negotiations opened in Vienna in an attempt to bring the United States and Iran back into the 2015 agreement providing for the supervision of Tehran’s nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions on aiming.

“I am still convinced that an agreement can be reached,” said Jean-Yves Le Drian on BFM TV.

“We have started on a rather positive path but time is running out,” he added.

Iran and Russia expressed optimism at the end of December on the progress of talks on Iranian nuclear power.
