According to estimates carried out in 2019 by Bruitparif (an association responsible for measuring noise pollution in Ile-de-France), an Ile-de-France resident would lose on average one year of life in good health due to their exposure to noise.

The World Health Organization regularly warns of the dangers of noise exposure, its effects depending on several factors, including exposure and duration. However, it is difficult to organize prevention against this pollution which is invisible to the eye, as seemingly innocuous environments can prove to be harmful sound level meter in hand.
