The figures seem to confirm it: the fifth wave of the coronavirus epidemic has arrived. This is what Olivier Véran said at the start of his press conference on November 25, 2021: “Yes, the virus is circulating again. It is circulating quickly in France and all over the world. France is in turn experiencing a fifth wave. It will be stronger, longer than the fourth wave of this summer”. However, the Minister considers to date that “we can pass this wave without resorting to the most restrictive tools”, that is to say “no confinement, no curfew, no early closure of shops, no restriction of movement”. Changes are expected in the health rules in force: from Monday, November 29, 2021, PCR tests will only be valid for 24 hours. From Friday November 26, the mask will be mandatory again in closed places open to the public. The health pass will be compulsory to access the Christmas markets.
Third obligatory dose
As of January 15, it is now necessary to make a mandatory booster, in order to maintain the effectiveness of the vaccine, and to have a valid health pass. The deadline for this reminder goes from 6 to 5 months indicates Olivier Véran, who summarizes: “You will have two months to receive your reminder and thus keep the benefit of your health pass”. Olivier Véran explains that for those who have been infected, “the rule is simple: one infection = one injection. If you were infected and it has been more than 5 months since you had your last injection, get vaccinated with the booster”.
