Is this the end of fine dining?

The most famous gourmet restaurant in the world in Copenhagen is at the end. His chef René Redzepi is paying the price for his own radicalism, but considers the business model of top international fine dining kitchens to have generally failed.

René Redzepi’s thumbs are not pointing up at the moment – his “Noma” in Copenhagen will be closing in just under two years.

Various feature films have recently delivered a swan song for the excesses of top gastronomy. The most recent example is the satire «The Menu», starring Ralph Fiennes in the role of a kitchen guru whose fans eat out of his hand before the star cult gets out of hand. With a slight tendency to cynicism, one could say: cinema has once again proven its visionary power. Because even though any resemblance to living persons is of course purely coincidental: reality is about to catch up with fiction.
