An analysis of password data shows the worst passwords.
If you find one of your passwords on the list, you should act.
Strong passwords are long, complex and different for each service.
There are around 120,000 online accounts in Switzerland with a password of 123456. This is the conclusion reached by an analysis of leaked passwords that were analyzed by specialists. A total of around four terabytes of data were evaluated.
But not only the string of numbers 123456 is one of the worst passwords of the year. 1234, qwerty, 111111, hello, password, daniel or andrea also appear in the worst-of lists. This is not surprising, because a noticeably large number of people use their own name, according to the website of the password manager provider Nordpass.

Why that is unreasonable: Most of the passwords on the list mentioned are cracked in a few or even less than a second. But what actually makes a good password?
Secure passwords according to the platform for internet security, iBarry.ch:
– Are long, at least twelve characters long.
– Consists of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.
– Can not be found in any dictionary.
– Do not contain any dates or names from you or your family.
– Are unique and individual for each account.
