Isabelle Adjani soon on trial for tax evasion: this mysterious donation at the heart of the investigation: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Possession, The killer summer, skirt day… At 68, Isabelle Adjani has a great career behind her and has starred in many successful films. But it is not for her longevity in the cinema that the actress is talking about her this Tuesday, July 18. I’AFP learned from a judicial source that the actress would be tried on Thursday October 19, 2023 before the Paris Criminal Court for tax evasion and money laundering. Isabelle Adjani is, in fact, accused of having defrauded the tax administration in 2013, 2016 and 2017. The star would have concealed “a donation of two million euros from Mamadou Diagna NDiaye, under cover of a loan, which enabled him to evade 1.2 million euros in transfer duties.” This businessman is the president of the Senegalese National Olympic and Sports Committee (Cnoss) and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Isabelle Adjani would also be fictitiously domiciled in Portugal, which would allow her “to evade 236,000 euros in income tax”.

Isabelle Adjani has an uninhibited relationship with money

This investigation, opened in 2016, follows revelations in the press of the Panama Papers scandal, a system of optimization and tax evasion from which personalities would have benefited. The actress reportedly owned a company in the British Virgin Islands. As this same judicial source reported to AFP, Isabelle Adjani is also suspected of having “transited through an American bank account not declared to the tax authorities the sum of 119,000 euros from an offshore company with an unknown beneficial owner and intended for an investment in Portugal.” For now, the star did not wish to speak on this affair. Thursday April 8, 2021, in the columns of Madame Figaro, Isabelle Adjani had however mentioned her relationship to money. Cash, the one who prefers to remain single, said: “I should have been American, because there you can marry a billionaire, there’s nothing wrong with that. Money is the absolute trap. You want to feel free from him , not to depend on it, but it is on it that our freedom depends in a world where everything has a price, where your purchasing power and your market value have become markers of your place in society.”
