“I had begged her not to do bullshit, says the latter. I was with my lawyer downstairs…she swallowed loads of shit […] She’s had a suicidal instinct for a while. She said “I’m not going”. She was so shocked […] She left with the SAMU, to the hospital”.
In the evening, Patrick Balkany gave news of his wife. “She is on a drip, we are treating her (…) Fortunately my daughter and my daughter-in-law arrived in time when she was swallowing a packet of medication,” he said on CNEWS, specifying having spoken for a few seconds with Isabelle Balkany. And to continue: “I hope things will go well but it’s very hard. I knew it, it’s the third time.

The couple soon in prison?
Sentenced for tax evasion, the Balkany spouses had until now been serving their sentence at home, in Giverny. By putting an end to this sentence adjustment, the Rouen Court of Appeal has today paved the way for their incarceration.
On Twitter, Isabelle Balkany reacted to the news by posting a disturbing message in which she said she wanted to “just sleep”. “Exhausted by age, mine, hatred, for others, anguish for the man in my life, the incurable wound of the “scrub” of what I was able to do that was positive… Thank you to those who made me happy to love me … and to my 4-legged loves, ”she wrote.

Claiming to have “always respected” the conditions of their conviction, the former mayor of Levallois-Perret judges the decision of the Rouen Court of Appeal “unfair” and “grotesque”.
Asked about the strategy of his lawyers, Patrick Balkany indicates that they “are going to ask for the release for health reasons” in order to “put him back on a bracelet”. “I know that I can make an appeal in cassation, but it is not suspensive. I’m going to jail, I don’t know how long I’m going to stay there. It is no longer up to me.”
