Israel-Hamas: IDF pressure on Gaza, lull in Tel Aviv skies

Fighting continued last night between Hamas and the IDF. If the fate of the hostages is still uncertain, the pressure on the Palestinian enclave has at least one direct consequence in the lives of Israelis: the number of alerts in the country’s major cities is decreasing.

This is the first time in more than a month that there has been a slight calm in the Israeli sky. Fewer sirens in Tel Aviv and the center of the country. If there are no official figures made public, a military source confirms it: for two days, the number of missiles and rockets fired by Hamas has been lower than in recent weeks.

On the other hand, there is no question of drawing hasty conclusions. Israeli military pressure in the north of the Gaza Strip undoubtedly has something to do with it. This may also be the consequence of a tactical redeployment by Hamas. The IDF has destroyed several rocket launch pads and seized at least 106 missiles since October 7.

For 48 hours, the terrorists have lost their freedom to maneuver on the ground. They no longer really have the ability to target civilian populations and are now pinned down by Israeli snipers in a very intense urban battle.
