Almost a year after her coronation, King Charles III. and Queen Camilla received a special document.

Shortly before the first anniversary of her coronation on May 6th, King Charles III. (75) and his wife Queen Camilla (76) received a special document. At Buckingham Palace on May 1st, the royal couple was presented with a so-called coronation certificate, known in Great Britain as the Coronation Roll – a detailed document about their coronation.

Coronation certificate is presented to Charles and Camilla at the palace

This is an XXL paper roll that is recognized as an official, government document. On it you can read detailed details about the king’s accession to the throne, the planning of the Coronation and the ceremony that took place in London on May 6, 2023.

The certificate was presented by Antonia Romeo, Secretary of the UK Department of Justice. The heraldic artist Timothy Noad and the calligrapher Stephanie Gill also worked on the document.

During the presentation in the palace, the coronation certificate was rolled out on a long table. Charles and Camilla examined the document with curious looks, as several photos show. “It goes for miles,” Charles joked according to DailyMail. Camilla added: “I won’t even try to read it without my glasses.”

Coronation Roll also visible online for everyone

In addition to the paper version, the two also received a digital document of the Coronation Roll. This is visible to everyone online.
