Israeli tanks filmed at Rafah crossing point

Geotagged images show Israeli tanks present at the Rafah crossing point. After calling on residents in the east of the city of Rafah to join “extended humanitarian zones”the Israeli army told the press on Tuesday morning that it controlled the Palestinian part of the crossing point.

This sudden breakthrough takes place just hours after Hamas announced, to the surprise of all stakeholders, that it had accepted an Israeli ceasefire proposal, not without having made important modifications.

The army advanced during the night through this city, where more than a million people who fled the bombings took refuge, says our journalist Louis Imbert. Palestinian and Egyptian sources told the Associated Press that tanks had entered the city, and that Israeli forces were 200 meters from the crossing point.
