Schumacher complains about brutal security “idiots”

Ralf Schumacher is angry with the stewards at the race in Miami. During the live broadcast of Formula 1 on Sunday, he grumbled about the idiots – and is now doing more. The ex-Formula 1 driver expects an apology.

TV expert Ralf Schumacher has reiterated and defended his abuse and criticism of security at the Miami Grand Prix. The former Formula 1 driver said on Sunday after the race in front of the running Sky camera: “They are idiots.” Like presenter Peter Hardenacke, he was pushed aside by the security forces when the top three winners were to be taken to the award ceremony by car.

“The security pushed me over so brutally, which hurt me a lot. We’ll forget the scratches, but it just doesn’t work that way,” wrote Ralf Schumacher in his column for the Sky TV channel. He expects an apology. But it’s much more important that something like this doesn’t happen again.

Ralf Schumacher said they were pushed aside with “high brutality” like a steamroller. Security had cordoned off the area so that the all-out winner Max Verstappen and second-placed Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez, as well as the once again furiously driving Fernando Alonso, third in the Aston Martin, could be chauffeured to the podium.

“During the live broadcast I said to the camera that they were idiots. I stand by that too. We will contact Formula 1 about it. That was Formula 1 for the first time in over 20 years,” emphasized Ralph Schumacher. In his opinion, the folders in the USA, where two more Formula 1 races will be held in Austin and Las Vegas this year, would act disproportionately.
