Monday August 29, 2022, Marianne James was invited on the set of It starts today, on France 2. Faced with Faustine Bollaert, the singer spoke of the suffering she inflicted on her body in order to lose weight.
A long fight… From a young age, Marianne James tried many diets. Monday August 29, 2022, on the set of It starts today, on France 2, the singer agreed to talk about her journey. Desiring to be slim at all costs, she recalled: “I starved myself to be like that. That is to say, the control I had of my body was so intense, so exclusive and so day-to-day that in the end, these were the two years where I did not hug anyone and where no one took me in his own.” Moved, the singer who made her first diet at 14 years old slipped: “It was a body that was so hard to obtain that it had become a fortress, sacred. It was hard. There have been diets to try to always stay within the norm and after a while, they no longer work.“
Over the years, Marianne James has lost all her weight. “I am 130 kg. If I count all the diets I’ve done, I’ve lost 130 kilos“, she estimated. In all transparency, the singer explained: “I went on a famous diet and got tired and sick. It weakened me enormously, mentally too. And I was scared, very scared. To heal myself, I took a short break in my career. From there, I understood that this race was played: I would have spent my life losing to diets. So I stopped. Finally, she added:It is a long work to love each other. I love my character, I really love myself. I get along well with myself. I love my hands and feet because they serve me a lot.“
Marianne James: “I would rather be 50 kilos lighter”
Monday, October 22, 2018, in an interview with Pure People, the singer had already expressed her problems with her body. Moved, she explained:If I had the choice, I would prefer to be 50 kilos lighter. Life would be sweeter, would be simpler. It’s complicated to be fat, to be obese, but I no longer have a choice. I can no longer lose them and I refuse operations and all this nonsense.“
