When, if not on Italian Food Day, should it be about pizza? The eternal classic of Italian cuisine inspires science fiction fans, makes pizza makers inventive and wants to be displayed. These gadgets could be just the thing for some pizza fans.
Galactically delicious
Anyone can have a simple pizza cutter. Real nerds, on the other hand, are happy that there are “Star Trek” pizza cutters, among other things. The shape of the handle is inspired by the USS Enterprise from the original starring William Shatner (90) as Captain Kirk and Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015) as Commander Spock. But there are also variants with sound for other popular cult series and series. How about a Doctor Who pizza cutter or a lightsaber from Star Wars? Depending on how elaborate the whole thing is produced, the pizza cutters often cost between 20 and 50 euros.
Improvised pizza oven
Buying a pizza oven is not worthwhile for many people: either they don’t make pizza often enough or they don’t have the space for it. In order to still be able to have pizza from the stone oven from time to time, a pizza oven grill attachment for the charcoal, gas or electric grill is suitable. The principle is simple: there is a natural stone in the stainless steel case. Placed correctly on the grill or a gas stove, it absorbs heat, stores it and then bakes the perfect pizza. A thermometer is usually attached to the housing to check the temperature. Good attachments are available from 60 euros, pizza stones for the oven are a little cheaper.

If you want to show off your love of pizza, you can have an individual smartphone case made. With a large number of printing providers, users only have to specify their mobile phone model, upload a picture and order the new case. Depending on the provider, personalized protective covers are often not cheap and can cost around 50 euros including shipping costs. But if you get hungry every time you reach for your smartphone, the way to the ordering app is not far away.
Or users access one of countless applications in which they are very likely to find the most delicious recipe they personally find – and in many cases free of charge. Alone portals like “chefkoch.de” and “lecker.de” already offer hundreds of alternatives – from pizza rolls, asparagus pizza and a mini calzone to the classic margherita, pan pizza or unusual options such as a muesli pizza.
Accurate to the gram
In order for the pizza dough to be successful, hobby cooks usually have to stick to the specified quantities of ingredients in a recipe. Here, among other things, the use of a digital kitchen scale is a good idea. These are not only practical and accurate, but usually also easy to clean. Even devices from well-known manufacturers or brands such as Soehnle and WMF are already available for around 20 euros.
The Thermomix is probably the most popular all-round talent among kitchen tools. There are users who swear by pizza dough prepared with a food processor. You can find a variety of recipes for this on the internet. But the whole thing is not for the small purse. The TM6 model costs around 1,360 euros on the Vorwerk website.
