An angry crowd of 600 people attacked and killed an Italian with sticks and stones in Honduras. The residents of the village of Santa Ana de Yusguare in the south of the Central American country had blamed the man for the death of a neighbor.
The police said on Friday that they also set fire to the Italian’s house and vehicle on Thursday. Five suspects between the ages of 19 and 55 were arrested.
Police couldn’t stop the crowd
According to media reports, the villagers accused their victim of stoning a homeless man to death for cutting down a tree on his property. According to the police, patrol officers tried in vain to hold back the crowd. (SDA)
