Italy: Sicily: Etna volcano erupted again

The summit of the more than 3300 meter high mountain already lit up on Tuesday night when lava shot meters high into the night sky during an eruption. The INGV had recently seen more activity on Etna.

The Stromboli on the volcanic island of the same name in northeastern Sicily last erupted again at the weekend. The lava flows there sometimes also reach the coast. There were initially no reports of major damage or injuries on the two islands.
