Tuesday evening, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) issued an unfavorable opinion on the maintenance of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in Ligue 2, which leads the football club to file for bankruptcy. This Wednesday, in front of the Bonal stadium, the atmosphere is not festive for the supporters.

In Sochaux, the atmosphere is not really festive. Despite the funds raised by an heir to the Peugeot family, the sporting authorities on Tuesday rejected the rescue plan for FC Sochaux, which is heading for bankruptcy. The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) refused the request of FC Sochaux Montbéliard (FCSM) to remain in Ligue 2, announced a local elected official. The CNOSF was not convinced by the takeover project led by Romain Peugeot, great-grandson of the club’s founder. For the occasion, Europe 1 went to Montbéliard in front of the Bonal stadium to meet the supporters, saddened by the news.

“In my blood, it’s yellow and blue”

The atmosphere is more than gloomy. After attending training this Wednesday morning, many supporters came to take a last tour of the store, like Estelle, who still had red eyes. The tears flowed this morning (Wednesday) on waking. We have always had a passion in the family for football, whether it’s my grandfather, my parents, my brother and myself. It’s a part of all of us who is leaving,” laments the supporter at the microphone of Europe 1.

She therefore bought yet another scarf to adorn her car and continue to proudly display the yellow and blue colors of the club. And that’s also what Pierre decided this afternoon. “My first gift I got was a Sochaux jersey. I must have been six or seven years old. There, I’m going away for a while, so I wanted to buy a jersey before leaving and have it. on the spot to make me happy”, explains the fan of the club. A jersey that Pierre will therefore put in his suitcase to fly to Canada in a few days for studies.

Ilian bought the complete outfit. “It hurts my heart a lot. I grew up with this stadium, I come every Saturday. In my heart it’s yellow and blue, in my blood it’s yellow and blue and it always will be” , proudly says this supporter. The next season is likely to be difficult for the Sochaliens.
