“It’s a shame”, “Not a big loss”, Internet users divided

After eight seasons on TF1, the show “Ninja Warrior” could end soon. According to information from journalist Clément Garin, the channel is indeed considering suspending the famous sports program, in particular because of a considerable drop in audience.

In July 2016, the TF1 channel launched the show Ninja Warrior in prime time. Hosted by Denis Brogniart, Iris Mittenaere and Christophe Beaugrand, the program follows the journey of competitors who compete against an obstacle course deemed impassable and which becomes more and more complicated as the competition progresses. Each show highlights candidates whose personal journey is exceptional.

And if the show was a real success when it was launched, it seems to have more and more difficulty attracting viewers. In July 2023, season 8 attracted “only” 2.41 million viewers while in 2016, certain episodes could generate peaks of 3.8 million viewers on TF1. Faced with this considerable drop in audience, TF1 would consider stopping the broadcast of the show.

Ninja Warrior: the show finally back in 2025?

And this is in any case what journalist Clément Garin assures, always very well informed and always ready to share scoops on X (formerly Twitter). This Tuesday, December 19, 2023, he thus revealed that Ninja Warrior will not be back in 2024. “End clap for Ninja Warrior. After eight seasons and a special edition soon to be broadcast on TF1, the heroes’ journey will not be back on the channel in 2024″ can we read.

“Officially, the 2024 Olympics do not allow Cannes to host filming for the brand in 2024. It is therefore officially “on break for a year”, and should return next year. Unofficially, the brand’s audiences are fragile, although qualified by good scores on young and female targets, could get the better of this flagship format of TF1co-hosted by Denis Brogniart, Iris Mittenaere and Christophe Beaugrand” adds the journalist. For the moment, the channel has not commented on this information and we note thata return in 2025 could also be considered as someone close to the case would have confided to Clément Garin.

An announcement that literally divided Internet users because if some are happy about the potential end of the game, others are saddened. “It’s a shame because I really liked this program which allowed me to compare myself with the candidates at my level! It was a program that went by quietly, you had a good evening. Above all, it was the opportunity to see Iris at the at least a few times since it was put on the shelf”, “This program is no longer really popular and it shows with the audiences, on a personal level if it stops for good, I will not regret it see disappear” we can read.
