While “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”, the fifth and final installment in the saga, has been in theaters for a week, Harrison Ford returned to how he said goodbye to his most famous character.
In theaters since last Wednesday, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny marks the end of the adventure for Harrison Ford. At 80, the famous interpreter of the archaeologist wears his legendary hat one last time and sets off in pursuit of a new artefact: the Archimedes dial, which would have the power to locate temporal cracks.
More than forty after having played him for the very first time in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Harrison Ford therefore definitely lays down the whip, and says goodbye to his most famous character, as he had recently been able to do for Han Solo (in Star Wars: The Force Awakens) or even Rick Deckard (in Blade Runner 2049).
On the occasion of the film’s press conference, on Tuesday June 13, he was also asked if these farewells had seemed to him different from the previous ones, and if they had a particular flavor for him.

“It wasn’t particularly different, but it was good. Thanks to the form that this farewell took. It warms my heart because I feel that we made a very satisfying film for the public”replied Harrison Ford.
“We got involved, we started from our interest in the character, and we tried to mold a story that could bring this character back into the lives of viewers with an interesting story. And I think, given the people who got involved in this character and the nature of the story that James Mangold has created for us, that this is a splendid farewell.”
