It’s current… The dismay of withdrawals and disabilities excluded from aid

The Christmas bonus will be paid in mid-December to more than 2 million beneficiaries. This boost from CAF, MSA or even Ple emploi does not benefit modest withdrawals or people receiving the adult disability allowance (AAH). A situation that many MoneyVox readers do not understand.

Once again, she is going to make many dues. Since 1998, a Christmas bonus has been paid, subject to means testing, to just over two million low-income households. At the beginning of November, the Minister of Solidarity and Families confirmed that this aid will once again be distributed.

The Christmas bonus is awarded to beneficiaries of certain social minimums, mainly CAF beneficiaries because they benefit from active solidarity income (RSA). The aid is then 152.45 euros minimum, and increases depending on the size of the household.

We too have the right to have a happy holiday season

But the conditions for granting this aid still cause many discontent. The MoneyVox editorial team has received hundreds of messages from modest readers who do not understand why they are not eligible.

I am on disability and am raising my child alone with me. I have 900 euros per month, they don’t give me a Christmas bonus. It’s quite current, Fabienne testifies.

My partner receives the adult disability allowance (AAH), we have a teenager and I don’t work. How come we are not allowed to receive the Christmas bonus? We too have the right to have a good end of year holiday. Not just people who have RSA, Lisa supports. I receive the AAH and I do not benefit from this Christmas bonus. I don’t understand, let go of Tchelssy 57.

The Christmas bonus is aid paid to beneficiaries of certain social minimums. (…) Beneficiaries of the solidarity allowance for the elderly and the allowance for disabled adults are not affected due to the amount of this benefit, which is much higher than the target allowances, explained in February 2022 the minister responsible for Disabled people.

I don’t find it normal that withdrawals are not entitled to the Christmas bonus, especially for small withdrawals.

In other words, the amount of the AAH which can today reach 971.37 euros per month is higher than the RSA or even the ASS whose beneficiaries are eligible for the Christmas bonus.

In September, rumors circulated suggesting that the Christmas bonus would now benefit AAH holders. False information, reminds the Handicap.fr website. CAF had also published a message to warn against this fake news. The safest way to know if you benefit from all your rights is to go to the site caf.fr > Espace Mon Compte, emphasized the CAF.

Christmas Bonus 2023: Do AAH beneficiaries receive this aid?

But AAH beneficiaries are not the only ones protesting against the conditions for granting the Christmas bonus. This is also the case for modest withdrawals like Expedit: I don’t find it normal that withdrawals are not entitled to the Christmas bonus, especially for small withdrawals. They also have the right to spend the end of year holidays. It’s disgusting.

Christmas bonus: I am retired, will I receive the bonus of 152.45 euros?

Despite our pitiful pensions (not even 2000 euros per month), the monthly bills, the house loan, we do not benefit from any help. We too would like to celebrate Christmas for our 5 grandchildren and 3 parents. Every month we are discovered. It’s no longer livable, explains Bernadette.

Why withdrawals and those who receive the AAH are not entitled to the Christmas bonus. We have the right to have Christmas like everyone else, Belle summarizes.
