At Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is not the only highly anticipated title. Assassin’s Creed Jade, whose gameplay preview is presented to us today, is also on the radar.
Taking advantage of Gamescom, Ubisoft lifts the veil on Assassin’s Creed Jade. Although it is less expected than the Mirage episode, it has all the assets necessary to be a success. To testify to this, the publisher released an impressive gameplay video featuring the Great Wall of China, one of the wonders of the world.
Assassin’s Creed Jade, make way for mobiles
If Mirage is designed for PCs and home consoles, Assassin’s Creed Jade is for mobile devices. And as you can see, Ubisoft has not skimped on the means to make this title a quality game in its own right. More than a simple ephemeral experience, you will judge for yourself the gameplay below, of a rather crazy quality for rendering on mobile. And to top it off, the game is completely free. Like blockbusters like Genshin Impact, Jade will get story updates and new areas every three months. How does Ubisoft make this choice profitable? Optional cosmetics will be offered in exchange for real money. Obviously.

Assassin’s Creed Jade, what do we know about the game?
Jade immerses players in ancient China of the third century. Its creators wanted to conceive it as a “wuxia”, a Chinese literary and cinematographic genre resulting in “stories of martial heroes”. It combines adventures of martial arts masters with fantasy, historical and romantic elements. Ang Lee’s film Tiger and Dragon is an emblematic example. On this subject, executive producer Andrei Chan mentions:

Just as Mirage pays homage to Arab culture, Assassin’s Creed Jade aims to respect China without compromising the essence of an Assassin’s Creed game.
We seek to honor Chinese history and culture while preserving the freedom inherent in the Assassin’s Creed universe.
In terms of gameplay, Assassin’s Creed Jade looks impressive. It allows full control of your customizable character and offers impressive freedom of movement for mobile gaming. All the classic features are there: cloak to escape enemy sight, hide in bushes or haystacks, whistle for attention, and vary between light and heavy attacks when fighting. The trailer also suggests remarkable graphics with an incredible view range. This is confirmed by the journalist from Eurogamer.
To get a taste of it, a closed beta is planned soon. Assassin’s Creed Jade is due out in 2024 on iPhone and Android devices, but its exact release date is yet to be confirmed.
