‘It’s like lighting a fuse’: Arnold Schwarzenegger admits Sylvester Stallone is the best actor

If Sylvester Stallone had admitted in the Netflix documentary Arnold that his lifelong rival had the best-sculpted body of all the action men of the 1980s, it’s Arnold Schwarzenegger’s turn to pay him a compliment, and not the least!

During the 1980s, the two actors competed at the box office to see who would be the best “action”. Like fans of Sonic and Mario or Marvel and DC, fans of “Sly” or “Schwarzy” fought hard to defend their favorite actor against the defenders of the other camp.

‘I wasn’t Italian enough for them’: Sylvester Stallone wasn’t allowed to star in one of the best films of all time

It was the ex-Mr. Olympia against the star of Rocky and Rambo, and find out who was the best built and most talented in front of the camera. Now that water has flowed under the bridges, in the pages of the magazine Peoplethe star of Terminator and Conan the Barbarian paid tribute to the acting of Stallone, who is now one of his friends:

When he gets angry, he gets really angry. It’s like lighting a fuse – yours burns right away and ‘Boom!’ Mine goes ‘Shhh’ and takes two days to really explode. That makes him a very good actor, because he feels things immediately.

“I really admire him”adds Schwarzenegger. “I love him. He’s just a very different person from me. He’s a lot rawer, and a lot more vulnerable and in touch with his emotions than I am.”

After a rivalry of almost two decades, the two actors ended up being brought together in the same film at the initiative of Sylvester Stallone with a short scene from Expendables, then longer in Expendables 2 and 3.

They will also meet again for the friendly Evasion by Mikael Hafstrom, in which they form a makeshift alliance to escape from a prison deemed inviolable. Note that Stallone had already tackled the genre with High Security. Now aged 76 and 77 respectively, Schwarzy and Stallone now form a cinema duo: the dream of every child of the 80s!
